Down the steps. Watch our for the crumbling curb, and point myself north. Past the pink house, yellow house, blue house, yellow house, dodge the baby brigade, and beat the light. Turn. Adjust headphones, keep the pace medium, get the blood moving. There's Alan. Hi Alan. Don't stop, just nod. Alan will understand. Does my knee hurt? No. Good. Up the hill, then coffee shop, hardware store, mysterious storefront, gift shop, bagels, yoga place, inexplicable store that only carries light bulbs and across the street, chainlink fence, angry dog, turn the corner, turn the corner. Why is that dog so angry. He's missing out on a lot of great things. Trees are pretty. Pick it up, look good for the two runners at the stoplight. They look like they're training for something. I should do a race. Time check. Adjust headphones. Drum solos are inspiring. Here I go. Down the hill, turn, yellow house, blue house, yellow house, pink house, turn, watch that sidewalk, somebody should fix that.
