Who You Really Are

I am not the missed call from my boss.
I am not my dozens of unread emails.
I am not my to-do list.
I am not the likes on my Facebook profile.
And I'm not the fast food on my lunch break.

I am...
I am the leaves falling on my shoulders
I am the grass beneath my feet
The wind blowing through the trees
I am the water flowing between the stones
The soil running between my fingers
I am the choices I make

Pullitzer Prize winner Ellen Goodman is often quoted for her passage on the corrosive nature of modern living and materialism: "Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it."

Is this what normal looks like to you? And do you feel appalled and sickened by it.

What have we been put here to do? Many of us ask this question because we look at the state of our day-to-day and say, "This can't be it."

The question after you watch this video is not if you can go back to normal, but will you. The choice is in your hands.
